After a forced stop, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the engines warm up and accelerate again. However, the Alfaloc-backed driver, Rafael Cardeira, is back on the roads, and soon in his homeland (Marinha Grande) to compete in the 2020 Vidreiro Rally.
The Sporting Clube de Portugal driver will compete in the RC3 category alongside co-driver André Couceiro, and will use the number 7. Stay like this with an interview with the pilot Rafael Cardeira:
The Vidreiro Rally 2020 is just a few days away. What is the feeling?
The feeling is good, we are preparing this rally very well. I don’t want anything to harm our performance, so we are attentive to details.
Taking into account the pandemic paradigm we are experiencing, how can this affect your performance in the Rally?
I have been working so that the pandemic does not influence our performance at all. The fact that there is not so much public at the various moments of the rally, in what is the home rally, will be different. But it’s the rules…
What does this Rally mean to you, being that you are from Marinha Grande?
It’s my moment of the year, I work hard to do this rally. Since I was little, I’ve been following the race and being able to be on top of today, it’s wonderful.
Alfaloc has been a company based in Marinha Grande for 25 years. You are one of the first sportsmen supported by this brand, which has already become international. For you, what is the importance of this support?
Above all, it is a pride to be able to represent a company with the size and notoriety of Alfaloc. The project, I believe, fits perfectly into Alfaloc’s way of working and that is what we want to enhance. My goal is to have the speed and efficiency of Alfaloc’s services in my driving!
What certainties or promises can you give “to the people” of Marinha Grande, for the Vidreiro Rally 2020?
The promise is that, as usual, I will do everything to win the race among the RC3 and fight for a good classification in the overall. The certainty is that I am trying hard for that.
The Vidreiro Rally starts next Friday (October 9, 2020), and will be broadcast live on the website of the Automobile Club of Marinha Grande.
