The Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) Portugal is a non-profit association that brings together and represents more than 170 reference companies in Portugal. These companies are actively committed to the transition to sustainability.
BCSD’s mission is to help member companies on their journey to sustainability, promoting positive impact for stakeholders, society and the environment.
A challenge that Alfaloc has faced head-on and that it intends to assume more and more with the greatest of responsibilities.
The planet is green. We are red.
Inherent to our activity, the transport of a product inevitably involves the movement of tons, due to both the weight of the vehicle and the load being transported. We recognise, however, that it is extremely difficult for the transport sector to achieve carbon neutrality. Without the introduction of truly revolutionary technology, this technology is essential to enable long-haul action without significantly increasing the burden and thus placing an excessive burden on a service on which most value chains around the world depend.
In the meantime, while we wait for such technology to emerge and become widely available, it is up to companies, within the framework of their sustainability responsibility, to take realistic and effective actions to reduce the negative impact of this activity. Thus, companies must make efforts to mitigate the contribution to the carbon footprint, aligning with the global goal of a greener world.
This is our commitment to sustainability. Carry out actions that mitigate the red contribution of our activity, contributing to a greener world.
