What now? What changes for my submissions?&#8221;.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/relations-united-kingdom\/eu-uk-trade-and-cooperation-agreement_pt\">Trade and Cooperation Agreement<\/a> &#8211; in force since 1 January 2021 &#8211; guarantees mutual access for products to both markets without quotas or customs duties, but also defined a series of trade barriers, such as more customs controls and bureaucracy in economic transactions. And consequently the increase in costs in commercial transactions. All similar to economic relations with other non-EU countries, such as Switzerland or Morocco, for example.  <\/p>\n<p>In this agreement, the following stands out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Agreement covers not only trade in goods and services, but also a wide range of other areas in the EU&#8217;s interest, such as investment, competition, state aid, tax transparency, air and road transport, energy and sustainability, fisheries, data protection and social security coordination.<\/li>\n<li>The Agreement <strong>provides for zero tariffs and zero<\/strong> tariffs for all goods that comply with the appropriate rules of origin.<\/li>\n<li>The two sides committed to <strong>ensuring a level playing field<\/strong> through high protection in areas such as environmental protection, climate change and carbon pricing, social and labour rights, tax transparency and state aid, as well as effective enforcement of national rules;  a binding dispute settlement mechanism and the possibility for both parties to take corrective action.<\/li>\n<li>The Agreement also provides <strong>for travel for short-term stays between the UK and the EU without the need for a visa<\/strong>, subject to reciprocity. What is Brexit<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-500ceae elementor-widget-mobile__width-initial alfaloc-ul elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"500ceae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The term Brexit represents the process in which the United Kingdom leaves the European Union (British + exit).<\/p>\n<p>This process was triggered after a referendum in the UK in June 2016, in which 48.2% of voters voted &#8220;Yes, we want to stay in the EU&#8221; and 51.8% voted &#8220;No, we don&#8217;t want to stay in the EU&#8221;. From the results, we realize that the British population is extremely divided about whether to remain. Young people and people in cosmopolitan areas like London tended to vote &#8220;Yes, stay in the EU&#8221;, while people in rural and older areas tended to vote &#8220;No. Leave the EU&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p>Some of the reasons given in favor of the United Kingdom&#8217;s exit were<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The end of the transfer of large monetary values from the United Kingdom to the European Union budget (associated with a perception of little benefit from this investment);<\/li>\n<li>promise of more money for health;<\/li>\n<li>decrease in the level of immigration;<\/li>\n<li>Among others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After the vote, with the result of &#8220;leaving the European Union&#8221;, it was proven that many Britons felt deceived and manipulated in their voting intention, due to false or adulterated arguments used by politicians supporting leaving the EU.<\/p>\n<p>This revolt resulted in several petitions, petitions and demonstrations calling for a 2nd referendum. One of the requests with the most adhesion had 6 million signatures. Even so, the request for a 2nd referendum was not acceded.  <\/p>\n<p>(It was later proven that there was voter manipulation, conducted by the Cambridge Analytica agency, via Facebook, through the creation of millions of fake profiles with posts inducing voting to leave the EU.)<\/p>\n<p>However, the desire for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union is not something new. The United Kingdom threatened to leave the European Union for the first time in 1975. That way you will already be familiar with the usual customs rules and procedures. Find out more on the website of the Tax and Customs Authority, in <a href=\"https:\/\/info.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt\/pt\/apoio_contribuinte\/Brexit\/Aduaneira\/Paginas\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brexit<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>One of the processes to take into account is to apply for an EORI number for your company. EORI stands for Economic Operator Registration Identification, that is, it is a Registration and Identification number for Economic Operators. This registration number is required for businesses that trade goods between your country in the EU and other countries outside the EU.  <\/p>\n<p>Companies that already trade with third countries already have this number. Now, the United Kingdom will be part of this list of countries. <\/p>\n<p>You can apply for an EORI number through<a href=\"https:\/\/aduaneiroqua.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt\/eori\/registry;eoriinter_JSessionID=hCSPoU8_ZkLKqNpG8CRzrIX2zfpGx_iczb6XZBRlQgsfQjipW1su!-892905506!-68679159?language=pt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> the Tax and Customs Authority website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This number will be required for the issuance of customs declarations, and you will have to communicate it to Alfaloc when you request to send it, from the moment the UK becomes a third country.<\/p>\n<p>(Please note: as long as there is no agreement approved between the EU and the UK, the UK remains part of the Union, so EORI is not yet necessary.)<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-99c26c3 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"99c26c3\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-efc5728 elementor-widget elementor-widget-menu-anchor\" data-id=\"efc5728\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"menu-anchor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-menu-anchor\" id=\"obter-codigo-taric\"><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-75d146b elementor-widget-mobile__width-initial alfaloc-ul elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"75d146b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Customs \u2013 get the TARIC code<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another process you can prepare is to find out the TARIC number of your products, so that the description of your products is as clear as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The TARIC number is a code that allows customs to identify what type of product is moving.
